Call for Papers

We invite submissions of papers focused on the near, medium, and long-term issues associated with AI benchmarking.

Papers can come from any discipline, but we especially encourage researchers in philosophy, law, economics, computer science, public policy, and politics to submit their work.

Papers should be submitted via the google form l before the deadline (November 31, 2023).

Note that ALL submissions must also be accompanied by a ~750 word extended abstract (uploaded separately). Submissions must be formatted according to the following guidelines:

Formatting Guidelines:

  • Prepared for blind review (both abstract and paper)
  • Filenames: “Title of Paper.pdf” (paper) and “Title of Paper – Abstract.pdf” (abstract)
  • Format: PDF (both abstract and paper)
  • Less than 8000 words (full paper) less than 750 words (extended abstact)

Selection of Winner

A committee of referees will review the submitted papers and select a winning paper on the basis of the clarity of argument, predicted impact, and originality. The author of the winning paper will be invited to present their paper at the AI Impacts workshop in Hong Kong (and their travel and accommodations will be covered).

The winning paper will also receive a $12,000 HKD (~$1,500 USD) Cash Prize. (Acceptance of the award requires attendance at the workshop, so that runners-up may be selected in the event of an author’s inability to attend.) Please do not submit a paper if you know in advance that you cannot attend should you win (see the announcement for dates).

FAQs

  1. If I submit a paper, should I plan to attend the workshop?
